Route 66 RacewayRoute 66 Raceway Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Chicagoland Speedway/Route 66 Raceway features a 1.5-mile D-shaped tri-oval speedway that sits on 930 acres of land, and adjacent to Route 66 Raceway. The multipurpose Route 66 Raceway in Joliet features a quarter-mile drag racing strip with a 30,000-seat grandstand and a half-mile dirt track. The track hosts two NHRA events each year with Funny Car, Pro Stock Motorcycle and Top Fuel Dragsters, which can reach speeds of well over 300 mph. Route 66 Raceway also hosts a variety of other racing events. Located approximately 3 miles South of I-80 on Route 53. From the North: Take I-55 South to I-80 East to Route 53 South.
